Culture
This object is a Chinese baby rattle it was giving to my little sister when she was a baby by my grandpa Ray. The ring you hold it by is ivory and the bottom is pearl, on the sides of the rattle there are two bells. I chose it for this culture assignment because my dads family roots are from china, and I think this object represents their culture well.

Typology
To create this typology I stayed in the same spot not moving the camera. The only thing that has changed in each photo is the image being reflected in the mirror.

Reflection
When taking my portraits I always
really wanted to show a character, and the emotion of the model. When taking portraits
photos I really tried to make my models show an emotion. Some turned out
mysterious, or upset, and others were, happy or playful. My environmental
photos showed a playful model, and studio models showed upset or mysterious. Lucy,
Brynn, and Haley are all good friends that have never been shy or quite. I used
them for this project because I wanted to show another side to them, I wanted
them to step into another’s shoes and portray a quite upset/lonely girl. For my
environmental photos I choses a model that is always smiling and goofing off, I
wanted to show her in her natural environment and not trying to act, just to be
herself. For this project had many difficulties finding the best angles to
capture the model in an interesting way. I had to try moving all around them to
find the right spot. My advice to anyone going out to take portraits is to take
pictures of your model at as many angles as you can.
Escape
Before : After :
In this image I wanted her to look like she was escaping to a place where she is alone and able to fallow her own light. I used an old lamp and the brick back ground because I wanted the photo to look older and I thought that it made it more interesting than an just a normal wall. To create this photo I used a tripod, camera, lamp, and a stool. I had my model sit on the stool and hold the lamp, I then put the camera on the tripod and made sure that all my settings were ready. After I took one photo with the model in it, and one with everything out of the frame and just the background. My next step was to upload them into Photoshop, I used the lasso, clone stamp and burn tool to merge both photos together and make it look like she was levitating.

Good Photos!
This project was a simple reminder of how to use photo shop for the new year. We took/found photos off of the internet and put them together in a collage.
